May I introduce you to...Sam

Sam Page is a co-founder and director of 7dots.

Sam started working in the digital industry at a young age, programming freelance and exploring new technologies as they emerged. Throughout his time at University he consulted for a number of companies and worked part time for an international construction group. After gaining a Business Management degree, Sam was soon snapped up by Base One, a leading digital agency in London.

He quickly worked his way up the ranks, gaining a reputation for his incisive approach and ability to extract the most out of everyone he works with. In the process, Sam has worked on a large number of high impact sites across a wide variety of industries.

Estimating the cost of a website – the magic formula

A few years ago, I was asked by an account manager whether there was a formula he could apply to calculate the cost of "a website". He was looking for a spreadsheet he could take to client meetings to provide costs on the fly without getting project managers and developers involved. You can imagine the sort of thing - a picking list with functionality and prices next to each one. I remember thinking it was a reasonable enough request. But very naive.
